Hi Vince, I was using the 210601 driver. I also tried using the non-secure NP kernel (the other option lilo presents) and got the same result. I think the next step for me is to try installing Redhat 7 next to Mandrake Secure and compare how USB is started up etc. I think Mandrake write their own start script and it may be filling USB devices with junk as it probes them or something. I know I had all sorts of problems having to replug the modem on Mandrake 8. I haven't tried RH7.0 with the driver atall yet, only 7.2 with a 2.4.x kernel, I hope it works... I thought it was something to do with the 2.2.19 kernel but it appears the the driver has been tested on a 2.2.17 kernel so it should work. If this driver can be made to work on Mandrake Security Linux then I for one will be most delighted! Mandrake Security Linux is a key ditro for this driver because it means the Alcatel USB can be used with an out-of-the-box firewall. Salut tout le monde ;-)) J'utilise le driver de Benoit avec une Mandrake 8.0, kernel d'origine 2.4.3, et j'ai quelques problèmes: quand je d/l très vite pdt un moment, ou que je d/l à un débit qui varie très très rapidement en permanence, j'ai la connexion qui plantouille. Je m'explique: Lorsque je tappe ifconfig, la connexion ppp0 est toujours présente, alors que si je ping un server avec une IP que je connais, ça répond pas, et qd je me fé pinguer de l'extérieur, ça répond pas non plus Donc le lien ppp est coupé. Je suis obligé de killer le process de pppd, et de relmancer l'inistialisation du modem et de relancer la connexion. Quelqu'un a-t-il ce problème là ?
