Gilles, please let me how many bytes of leakage you usually see. If it is a lot - that tells me something. If it is small - that also tells me something. Thanks, Duncan. Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se désinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[speedtouch] alcatel usb modem on Fedora core 1 - pppd problem
I have used my speedtouch alcatel usb modem for a year and had no problem with it. I had RedHat 8 and used http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net/ as a reference while setting up. Recently we decided to give a try to Fedora core1 and I turned to your manual because I found it more precise. I have wasted two days and still no luck ;-( I followed your FAQ but had no luck. My log shows some problems with pppd but I cant figure out what to do.. Please let me know what do you think.. The scripts are wrong and some bridging program (?) is missing. Ciao, Duncan. Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se désinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

And I saw only the message when pppd end. I had a few other things to debug on IPCop alpha version and I should be able to verify tomorrow when I see exactly the problem, with wich package or protocol. I have a few other modems ATM or not and can use pppoa3 / pppoeci / pppoa (eagle driver) / PPPoA plugin / RP_PPPoE with ppp-2.4.1 Other subject I have read that you say that pppoe plugin was broken in speedbundle 1.0. Is-it the PPPoA plugin patch you used which broke the PPPoE plugin? If this is the case, do you know a working PPPoA patch for ppp-2.4.2 wich is just out. I may try with ppp-2.4.2 Gilles Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se désinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

This message does not exist in kernels before 2.4.24, so maybe the problem always existed. One difference between us is that I am not using pppd: I'm using routed IP. I'm surprised you use pppd - are you in Free's "zone degroupee"? Can you also try routed IP please. Thanks, Duncan. [speedtouch] Re: VPI/VCI problems
Indeed In the end thats what I plan to do, but with the internet server being very important at work for emails etc I intend to figure it all out at home first on an old computer. I'm going to scrap the idea of using redhat and just stick with a simple Linux distro that will be easier to and smaller to configure.
