That's right. You end up with a line like:

pty "/usr/local/sbin/pppoa3 -e 1 -vpi 8 -vci 35 -c"

in your /etc/ppp/peers/adsl file.

Could you let me know where I would have to add "-e 1".
I set up the connection using drake, and have checked pap-secrets... Other than that I
am pretty ignorant.
Thanks

Works on 2.6.4 for me (added "-e 1" to pppoa3 options to make it work,
since otherwise kernel structures are not properly initialised).

Cheers,

So I should be able to get it to work without using the speedtouchconf.sh or the
speedtouch tutorial?
In theory would I then just need the firmware? Any suggestions for how to get it to
work, as it does not work at the mo.
Thanks in advance
Sam

Works fine with 2.6.1 up to 2.6.3 kernels. Then fails more or less with
2.6.4 and fails miserably in 2.6.5-rc releases (process shown as D< by
ps ax).

AFAIK Mandrake 10 install a 2.6 kernel by default. Right now, the
speedtouch-1.2 drivers does not seem to work under 2.6 kernels.
