I fixed it in the CVS yesterday night. I did have a little "fiddle" but im not brilliant C programmer, lol. So I'll give the CVS version a try a little later. > I will try to fix the setup/start/stop scripts, would you like > to help? I had noticed that the scripts didn't work, so went on to do things manually by working out what the scripts `do'. but yes, I would love to help. I've sorted the firmware part. Doh. Concerning the firmware part, the easiest way is to use the .zip archive on Thomson web site. (There is a link from http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net/). [speedtouch] Re: SpeedTouch 1.3 + Rev. 4 + OpenBSD 3.5
I see, sorry. It was all a little confusing after reading the docs (cvs/1.1) on the speedtouch.sf.net site. I think I got it now ;o) - although, what does the -m switch do to modem_run ? Thanks a lot! -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gilles Espinasse Sent: 24 June 2004 12:07 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [speedtouch] Re: SpeedTouch 1.3 + Rev. 4 + OpenBSD 3.5 Selon Luke Edgeworth <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > Hello > > I recently downloaded SpeedTouch-1.3.tar.gz so I could use my Thomson > (Silver) SpeedTouch 330 USB ADSL Modem (Rev. 4), I un-tarred, got all > the appropriate files (KQD6P[12].eni, ZZZLP[12].eni, mgmt.o from > alcaudsl.sys) > executed: > You don't need all firmwares but only one appropriate with your modem : - Rev 0.00 and Rev2.00 should use KQD6P or firware.bin or mgmt.o or alcaudsl.sys before version 3.00 - Rev4.00 use ZZZLP flavor. I am unsure how recent firmware (KQD6P/ZZZLP/alcaudsl.sys after version 1.6 and before version 3.00) will work with pppoa2. Flaw with those firmware were fixed with driver V1.2 in pppoa3 but not in pppoa2 (I don't know for V1.3) You may prefer to use firmware.bin because it is the most recent firmware wich will not cause trouble with pppoa2 if pppoa2 is not fixed for recent firmware use. > make install > << > > also fine. You act blindly without reading how it work and what mean the command you type modem_run --help will help you You must write the right path where you put the fileS (firmware and bootloader) If you use only xP2.eni, it will not work and complain about bootloader need. You may now use the firmware only package available at Thomson site where bootloader and firmware are concatenated in one file for rev [0.00|2.00] and rev 4.00.
