You can simply rename kqd6_3.012 to mgmt.o
You don't need to recompile kernel to use user-mode driver. But you may
improve performance/stability with at least v1.2 driver version or v1.3. In
particular, if your modem is a 330 (purple), you need v1.2 a minima to make
the connexion reliable with new firmware.
I don't like the new v1.3 feature that remember if the firmware was loaded
as I don't know how to tell the driver to forget a firmware was inside and
load it again.
You may like hot-plug support in v1.3 (I don't know, I am not using it)
