In sphinx/roles.py, the xfileref_role symbol has dispappeared somewhat
recently (I haven't been following very closely development). This has
two problems:
- first, matplotlib has an inheritance_digram that depends on it, and
thus breaks,
- second, it creates an undefined symbol on line 57
