[sphinx-dev] indexing documents outside of the root directory

Dear Sphinx experts, we have a structure of directories doc/conf.py + index.rst + rst-source files src/ build/ -- here I generate the documentation Where the src/ directory contains also some important rst-doc files. Please would it be possible to tell Spinhx to index also the out- of0the-root

I'd like to use some of the common symbol entity substitutions afforded by restructured text in my Sphinx docs, using .. include:: isonnums.txt and so forth. Is there a way to include this file once for my whole project, so that I can use the |copy| and similar substitutions in all documents
