You really should get a pressure gauge and measure the
pressure (before and after the regulator) to
see if there really is excess pressure. I really
doubt that a stock mechanical pump could cause
excess pressure.
If you are a clever cheapskate, you could avoid having
to buy a pressure gauge like
I've just about got the frame disassembly done on the '67 GT6. I should be
ready to sandblast it next weekend. My question is what paint are people
using on the frame? I've heard a lot about POR 15 but have never used it.

I just use a can of 3-in-1, since it's relatively
light, and convenient.
But I think something like 10W-40 motor oil would be
too thick.
