Well Larry since Fred is in VA too, there is at least one spitfire around.
;o)
It's a shame your spit couldn't make the move...

Fred,
I know I'm a little late on this, but my thoughts from a woman's view: Did
you ever think to ask her if she might like to take a spin with you? Maybe
she was feeling a little left out?
Hope the yardwork was done in plenty of time for you to enjoy a ride.

I have never been much of a cook, and when that choice comes up, the grass
gets cut everytime.
Tell her to get her butt out there and mow it herself if she is so
concerned about it! :-)

Even more frustrating is waking up on your birthday, a fantastic hot sunny
day, and momentarily forgetting that you no longer have a Spitfire (that
works) - and only realising as you open the door to be greeted by a
Vauxhall Corsa...
Life could be worse I suppose...

Fred,
What is more frustrating - having the car but not the weather to drive it
in, or the weather to drive it in (which we've been having in Scotland, and
that doesn't happen often), but your car is stuck in the garage because you
can't find the time to sort the badly-running engine?
