Hi all,
Is there any difference between these two frames? Are they interchangable?
How do I tell which one I have sitting on top of a 1500?
Thanks

Hi all,
I just did this task last Sunday and forgot to respond. I had bought a panel
removal tool for my truck, you know the kind, it looks like a screwdriver
with a forked tip. You are supposed to use it to put around the panel pins
to pull them out of the door.
Well, I thought this was going
Evening all,
Well, it is that time of year again, spring is in the air and the LBC's are
starting to emerge like little bunnies. Of course it is time to adjust the
rocker clearances again, they are chattering a bit. I have two questions, I
can not find my engine book right now but I remember
Hi all,
A friend of mine has 2 MKII bonnets for sale.
The first is a steel one and has a small hole behind the drivers side light
(about 2 sq). Otherwise very solid 8 out of 10.
The second on is a fiberglass one. I would rate about an 8 out of 10. This
has been used, great for a racer.
Not

It is these kinds of situations where I would normally suggest a BBQ over
the weekend. One where a bunch of friends of like interests, in this case
Triumphs, meet up for good chat, good food and all around good time. Nigel

Evening all,
About a week ago I checked the timing on the spitfire and made some
adjustments. I also run her on premium fuel, 92octane or better.
Well, I noticed that I was getting really good mileage. On a single tank,
32l (8.7us gal) I have been getting 300+km(180miles) per tank or 9.3km/l
Hi Ken,
I lost the snap ring that held the 2nd/3rd gear cluster in my gearbox last
year and the symptoms I had were crash shifting into 2nd and 3rd. I ended
up driving 1st to 4th until I could pull it out.

Hi all,
After the complete rebuild of the '3 I am back to looking at the planned
maintainence on the spitfire. On area of concern is the front brakes, being
a spitsix I am not sure if it is using spit calipers or gt6 ones, what are
the marks I need to look for to identify which pads to order?
First thing I did, drained it all out and put fresh in :-)
At least there is fresh oil in there.

The Waterloo British Car Club (WBCC), is expecting about 20 cars there. If
there are no surprises, my TR3a will be there. Always a great turnout and
great credit goes to the Vic and the Toronto Triumph Club. If you can
attend do.

Hi all,
For the second Jan 1st in a row the Spitfire went out for a run into town.
The snow had melted 2 days ago and all was dry. What a drive, -3C(approx
30F), the top was up cause my 5 year old was with me. But a good run
overall once she warned up.
Just when I thought I was the only nuts
Scott,
All I can say is don't pay too much for it. I also have been scanning for
one for the misses. I have seen the prices around here (southern Ontario)
drop as of late. An '88 in near perfect condition is going for about $3-5K
Cdn, a friend in my local car club bought a Vanden Plus for
Dave,
My poor spit has been running around with 3 trim rings for a year now. It
seems they want you to buy the complete set of round lip ones or hopefully
find a decent used one.
Let me know if you come across a spare one.

We got 8 of _new_ snow last night and today. Still trying to dig the garage
out from the drifts. I will be so glad when the warm weather returns.

Is anyone going to the vintage races at Mosport this year? The one where
Triumph is the key marquee?
If so, does someone have dates etc?
Thanks

John can you give us the serial number off the engine, GT6's last year of
production was '73. Not that this makes a difference in the fuses but it
does help clear up information.

Having received trim rings from a fellow lister that are right for the

and off it came. Is there any adjustment to the tab-thingys to make a
tighter fit?
Thanks in advance

Without the O/D I find the overall experience not very good, I guess it
is the same for the spitfire gb's as well. The engines rev high at
highways speeds. Who knows a perfectly good working O/D unit may be
coming up for sale soon :-(

Funny I was looking at a similar setup, not for the spit yet but for the
'99 Jeep WJ ( triumph support vehicle for related content :-) ). It has
an ashtray that will never get used and was figuring out how to mount
the GPS unit there somehow. That leads to the next part of course,
adding in usb
