Can anyone tell me the size of the shear bolts used in the '78 Spitfire
steering column lock/ignition switch? Is there a reference somewhere that
has various nut/bolt sizes?
Many tks.

on the
rear deck. I have the seals that are noted in the various catalogs. I
have read that different people have done different things to protect
this area - everything from thicker seals to using the c shaped
chrome door edge guard molding to trim the bottom edge. Suggestions?
Many thanks!!

Greetings...
I need a nicely painted handle for the cigarette lighter in my '78
Spitfire. The one that I have now has a barely visible painted cig on it.
I would like to have one that looks better.
Or, does anyone know what to repaint it with?
Tks all

Can anyone tell me (or tell me where to find) the actual size of the
two bolts that pass through the windscreen and screw into the captured
nuts in the hardtop?
I would guess that they are about 2 inches long and maybe 5/16 UNF but
I need to know for certain.
Many tks..

Okay ... I give!!
It is my first time to try to put the factory hardtop on.
I have fought with this thing for the last week. I have the right bolts
all around. I cannot get the @#^ windscreen bolts started when the
hardtop is in place. Off of the car, yes.. I can - not a problem. The
measured that I realized how out of straight the entire
thing was!!!
Wow!!
Anyway... thanks again to those that made suggestions. I appreciate the
time you took to help me. If I ever get it 100% I will let you know.
And, as always, any other suggestions or tips are most welcome!!
