[Wearing no hat, except my Cisco affiliation]

Tony,

Your email prompted me to check in the data tracker DB and with Cisco legal
dept about the timeline for this IPR disclosure about RFC 8402.

I am afraid that the chronology leaves out two previous clusters of disclosures
by Cisco, in 2013 and 2014. Those are:

    - in 2013 https://datatracker.ietf.org/ipr/2275/
    - in 2014 https://datatracker.ietf.org/ipr/2457/

The recent disclosure was triggered by some continuation applications; it is
just an update of the previous ones.

I hope it helps to clarify the situation,

-éric

related to RFC 8402

Let me see if I understand the timeline here:

    2013, June 28, Draft submission of draft-filsfils-rtgwg-segment-routing-00
2018, July, Published as RFC 8402
2020, July 30, US patent filed for Enforcing strict shortest path
forwarding using strict segment identifiers
2022, Apr. 18, IPR declaration filed

    Do I have that right?

    Tony
