I believe the handbook even states the concern with mixing the wrong orifices
sizes and talks about using different thread sizes.
My standard practice is make sure the thread sizes are different to

Travis,
I think your situation may fall under NFPA 13 (2016) Section 23.4.4.9.3:

Travis,
I think your situation may fall under NFPA 13 (2016) Section 23.4.4.9.3:
23.4.4.9.3 Sprinklers with different K-factors shall be acceptable for special
use such as exposure protection, small rooms or enclosures, or directional
discharge. (See 3.3.22 for definition of small rooms.)
3.

price is forgotten.

Are you trying to fine tune your sprinkler discharge that tight by using the
5.6K std coverage sprinkler? What's the end goal?
For simplicity sake, why not just use all the same in the room and be done.

It appears he missed the part about extended coverage. From your
description, it looks like you are in compliance with 23.4.4.9.4.
The way it was explained to me was that the standard didn't want techs
laying out systems starting with a 14K, then an 11.2K, then an 8.0K to
balance or eliminate o
Well I disagree with Mr. Hague and you can bet there will be a Public Input
submitted to NFPA 13 for 2022
