Jimmy, You said code reference and I'm not sure about that, but 8.15.1.2 '07 ed. has concealed spaces that do not require sprinkler protection. Spaces shall be considered concealed even with small openings such as those used for as return air for a plenum. Not sure if this is what you were lo
