Even designers with many years of experience have trouble with this Carlo- it is rather subtle. My understanding is (and I don't mean to shout, upper case is meant for distinction): Where seismic protection is required- All MAINS have to be BRACED. All LINES 2.5" or bigger have to be BRACED.

Are you trying to buy a replacement motor for an existing pump? Fire pumps are exempt from the Premium requirement, however if the manufacturer sells the motors mostly to other industries they may have made changes that give up the required Design type B to make it meet the premium
