Would anyone know how much clearance we need to leave between or steel feed
main and an exposed crane rail with 440 volts?

Hello George,
Just a quick look at the 05 NEC 610.57 talks about crane/hoist
controls and requires 2 1/2 feet in front of cabinets.
Now NEC 110.26 (a) (1) Working Spaces Condition 2 Exposed
conductors 151-600 volts to ground requires 3 1/2 feet.
I always ask The question - How close to that
George
You won't go far wrong if you follow the table ( 1.9 I think in NFPA
15). This requires a minimum of 7 inches (178mm) for all voltages
13.8 kV
