Not sure of the problem or the particulars.
Have used these during construction before putting the system in final service.

So similar but different scenario
When doing a crematory no heads are required inside the oven?
Factors
It gets to hot
There is no real occupancy
The actual oven is design to withstand heat and fire
How big is this oven?

Are we maybe describing drip pans under pipe in electrical room?
Military jobs like this in their specs
It's usually sheet metal bent into a u shape a inch or so wider than pipe. Hung
separately but touching bottom of pipe.
No obstruction
Unless I am misunderstanding

Out of curiosity are you going to put isolation valves for the 2 1/2 run out to

Why not fabricate small pieces (1-0) with a outlet for the head and put a
grooved cap on the end to flush at later time.
Long term solution imho

Greetings everyone
Question
Can the small room rule be used if the area in question is separated by a
lintel greater than 8" ?
My train of thought
3.3.22 Defines small room and uses the term "compartment"
3.3.6 Defines compartment as being permitted to having opening to adjoining
spaces
Yes
An AHJ can ask for anything.
We produce a letter outlining NFPA testing requirements to the GC and dissolve
us of any libilaty due to testing existing system and we dont test until they
agree and sign.

I would provide placard for original design.
It's great that it has improved probably due to utilities rework but I would
not take over the design unless i did a full analysis.
It would also have to be permitted and tested as if new install.

I have a project where I am getting some push back for indicating sidewall
sprinklers to protect under flat duct work in a mechanical room.
Anyone have any experiences or discussion on the matter?

8000 Brownleigh Dr,
Is there any code reference because I lost the argument several times.
Let's say you have an area with a cloud ceiling with interstitial. Deck is 15'
between floors with beam construction and the ceiling cloud is 8' with a gap
requiring interstitial.
Thanks
