This issue was addressed at the first revision on NFPA 13 regarding noncombustible/limited-cpmbustible vestibules that contain no combustibles can have the sprinkler omitted. This is certainly a reasonable allowance so has a high likelihood of remaining through the second revision but you

Not that it helps you, but just an FYI. Minnesota now allows omission of sprinklers in vestibules that meet certain criteria... 2015 MN Building Code 903.3.1.6.5 Vestibules. Sprinkler protection is not required in vestibules that meet all of the following conditions: 1. The vestibule is 225

What is the cost of a dry pendent installed? $100, $300??? How many man hours is going to be spent by the contractor trying to fight against it? Sometimes when you win, you still lose. Travis Mack, SET MFP Design, LLC 2508 E Lodgepole Drive Gilbert, AZ 85298 480-505-9271 fax: 866-430-6107

That may be Travis, but it's more economical to tell the ahj where to put it in this case. b On Oct 18, 2016 6:02 PM, "Travis Mack" wrote: > We've had so many ahjs and inspectors require that it is just easier to > put in. > > Travis Mack, SET > MFP Design, LLC > "Follow"

Thats why i put the "?" after overhang. How is it physically different? We don't often sprinkler exterior floor areas. Brad On Oct 18, 2016 5:48 PM, "Travis Mack, SET" wrote: > I have run into this many times. We always put a dry pendent in that area. > > Travis Mack, SET

Not an overhang. The entry way juts into the warehouse so that the roof of the building is still overhead fully protected and there is a 20ft gap then the entry way. Since its cold in the winter here I would need to install a dry pendant to protect the space below the entry ceiling. Just trying

Sounds like an exterior floor space with no fuel load to me. The 10 ft high noncomb ceiling is an overhang? I'm gonna scratch my head on 8.15.7.4 a while, but I don't think that's your get out of Sprink free card here. Brad On Oct 18, 2016 7:38 AM, "Dewayne Martinez"

NFPA 13 (07ed)8.15.7.4 I have a warehouse that is 30ft tall with inset entryways with non-combustible walls/doors on 3 sides and open on the 4 to the outside. The entryway is about 10ft tall with a noncombustible ceiling. Would 8.15.7.4 (or any other rule) allow me to omit sprinkler protection
