[sqlite] Recursive CTE on joined table

I have a recursive cte on a joined table and altough it works fine the SQL is a little complex and teh join makes it a little difficult to follow. I can simplify the SQL by creating a view andthen use the ciew in my recursive cte, but for various reasons I would rather not do this. Is it possible
