to 7.7.6 or 7.9.x.

having installed the latest LMS, moved it off the NAS to it's own
server, I've finally had time to log through some of the logs and
correct some minor scanner problems with my music files.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the CUE support. I hadn't realised
there was cue support, and it's

First of all possibility that someone can hack or even want to hack my
LMS
OH GOD!!! *THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!* I'll try it.
So simple thing and NO ONE could answer.
I'm still convinced you don't really need this. But good luck with it

Please calm down.
Youll find a line protectSettings: 1 that you should set to 0 in
server.prefs. Where do you find the latter depends on the system
youre running LMS on.
On my RasPi for instance its under
Code:
/var/libs/squeezeboxserver/prefs

Hi Michael, I see this thread seems to have gone dead some time ago, so
perhaps you have solved the update issue and I just don't know about it.
I'm no Linux expert but I see that Plex is using a programme called Snap
to update. Is that perhaps an option for LMS too?
That's actually an idea

This absolutely stupid "security" check is everything but stupid...
I feel I'm in a perfect situation to say no, it's not stupid. But your
answer certainly is. Because it's not only wrong, but also misleading.
