Yes. If you disable that you will only get tracks that start with "Time"
in a track list in your example.

I have a SB Touch, LMS 7.9 and sometimes listen to FIP autor du rock,
which is a rock stream from the French FIP public service radio.
Coming back from my holiday I notice that the volume of this stream
suddenly goes from normal to almost zero. SOmetimes it changes after a
short while, sometimes

Not at all. If your library is large enough...
IIRC some newer LMS versions actually even put the full-scale artwork
into the cache dbs so it can easily grow that big.
Which control Apps do you use?

Probably not what you want, but if you're looking for a particular track
by a particular artist with the word "time" in the title, then a simple
way is to install the "Full text search" plugin.
If I want the track "Lilac Time by Isobel Heyworth", typing just "time"
would give me ~200 hits.
If I

Oh! :(
Dead easy ... delete all tracks in library that don't start with time

I know this is an old thread but somehow I ended up with a cache.db file
of over 1GB and a cache.db-wal file of over 500MB running the latest LMS
7.9. I thought those days were long gone.
The size of cache.db doesn't depend on artwork (there's artwork.db and
imageproxy.db for that). It's used

Hm, then I'd expect it to not grow beyond 500-600MB

I may have found the culprit. For reasons which I won't explain here I
was using an unsecured connection to connect to the net. I think the
Kaspersky component "Unsecured Connection" may have been blocking the
LMS connection to the net. Will do further testing later.
I'm running slimserver on archlinux box but cannot seem to reliably
connect my squeezebox radios to the server.
Server:
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - TRUNK @ UNKNOWN
Hostname: server.ourhome.net
Server IP Address: 10.20.30.1
Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
Operating system: Linux - EN -
No I didn't check the Server log. My cache.db is 47MB now, I will keep
an eye on it over time. Even 47MB seems high compared to 15MB.
As I said: this heavily depends on your use of plugins and internet
services. Some information about them might help to understand the issue.

Yes I can access the HTPC server from the laptop.

yes of course, we're talking about searching on track title - not

so to be clear: is there any setting out of the box which let me do
that/or something i need to set on the server in order to get this
result? (or is that the Settings->My Music->Search within words you were

One thing I should make clear: in LMS you can not search for a filename,
if that's what you are talking about.
Regarding incremental loading by character: that would be nice but
doesn't work because I'd have to load the full list to know how many
tracks by category X there are, you can't just

to be rather a LMS question than an ipen question -)

Sonos has it easy, they only support some 50k tracks or so, that would
be doable but I know people with well over a
