Please change to DASH >> HLS >> MP3 >> FlashAAC
These are the only options BBC now supports and HLS is unreliable which
may be a source of music stopping and so be "muddying the

That's not good. Do you have your LMS ports exposed 9000 etc. to
internet ?
Thanks. I'll change the preferences when I get home and retest this
evening.
On your other point, I have not changed any settings on either server or
player (other than turning the squeezelite logging on). Maybe
gremlins!

Transcoding setting just don't change !! so either you are doing
something different or somehting has changed by someone.
To track down "random glitches" - things need to be replicated exactly
I am unable to play DSF files. I have been searching the forums but am
unsure what to do next.
The error log shows:
Code:
[18-03-08 12:22:28.9245] Slim::Formats::loadTagFormatForType (110) Error:
Couldn't load module: (dsf) : [syntax error at (eval 1371) line 2, at EOF
The only thought I have is that audio:scan is an older version but I am
not sure how it update it.
That's correct: AFAIK you'd need 0.95.
Get a copy of
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/7.9/CPAN. Then
run
./buildme.sh Audio::Scan
from the CPAN folder.

_any_ plugin?
Check server.log: any hint about the prefs failing to be written to disk?

I only asking for this additional feature for piCorePlayer lunched on
Raspberry Pi 3 - is this impossible to add this in near future to
slimserwer (LMS for piCoreplayer) ?

Any plugin, yes.
I checked server.log and you are 100%
I'm sure I've had this problem before (and solved it), but I just can't
work it out.
LMS: 7.9.1
OS: Raspbian
1. When I try to install any plugin, it appears to install and asks for
restart.
2. When I go back to the plugins page, the plugin has not installed.
What is going on?
That works thank you

I have changed the iPlayer stream preferences to start with DASH rather
than HLS and all good so far. Rebooted server and players.
I attach the PcP log below and the LMS log is attached.
24677
As before RPi/PcP on MAC address ending 69. Squeezelite on Win10 PC on
MAC address ending 82.
The stream are now playing natively DASH - no transcoding which is best.
It simplifies playback.
You seem to have restarted LMS at 18:20. At 18:13 a HLS stream was
being played but at 18:22 a DASH stream is being played. There is no
need to restart LMS when changing BBCiPlayer settings but if

For this sort of error - plugin specfic logging is usually not the place
to start as you said the

Do I clone the whole
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/7.9/CPAN into
the /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN directory and build it there or do
I build it in another directory then copy it across?
No, you build outside, and only copy the resulting Scan.pm and Scan.so
