Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] 7.9 nightly and unix_timestamp

2015-12-20 Thread Michael Herger
I really think this problem is not related to the LMS version, as
unix_timestamp afaict has never been part of LMS. The plugin would have
to implement and register it. If it failed, then you should see some
message about that failure in your log file, too. Please provide your
full server.log file, not only the snippet you posted. Oh, and try to
get some information from Erland, too.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 7.8.0 now available!

2015-12-20 Thread Rocketman3

Hi

Thank you for advice on the BBC iPlayer. I am nervous about both pieces
of advice however as I'm not any sort of hacker - at least not with this
environment. I wouldn't know how to access the CLI nor am I particularly
happy about trying. Which is the most low tech way of getting it going
again? Going this 'Dash' route (absolutely no idea what that means by
the way!), or "patching" the Triode version (ditto - no idea how to
patch). Sorry to be such a Duet virgin, but that's my starting point. I
guess a related consideration is 'which approach is llikely to be future
proof for the longest amount of time?'. Given what trepidation this fix
involves, I'd like to think that whatever approach I try is likely to
remain working for the longest amount of time.

I do hope neither of these solutions risks sabotaging the functioning of
the rest of the Duet system - which I guess goes without saying.

So which way involves least rocket science: the Dash or the Patch?!!

Cheers

Frank.

Yes, check 'here'
(https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/tree/public/7.9/CPAN/arch) for

it's bundled with it's own packages and therefore not independent from
the Perl version

That's why I use a non-system perl for LMS, thus avoiding all these
issues

If you are wondering about ratings and play counts, these are stored in
another database
Nevertheless, having a backup is always a good idea

I don't think TrackStat is using cache.db, but persist.db. cache.db
really shouldn't contain any information which wouldn't be replaced
automatically. You can rename it while LMS is shut down if you want to
keep a copy, yet start from scratch. But most likely that copy wouldn't
be useful anyway, as it's corrupted.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] I broke my LMS

2015-12-20 Thread Bemused

I have multiple player (SBT, radios, duets and pCPs) all synchronised.
Some pCPs are capable of high resolution flacs, some not.

When I played say 24/96, LMS down sampled to the capability of the
lowest client, this was fine as for casual listening we could play any
resolution flac over the system, for serious listening on the big rig I
just shutdown all other players and enjoyed full fat flac.

Some where in the past I broke LMS, probably whilst messing around with
bbc iplayer problems.
LMS is no longer down sampling, no SOX being invoked, the result being
24/96 won't play over the system just a few individual players with
24/96 capability.

Server is BeagleBoneBlack.

Your advice on where to start looking and how to fix would be greatly
appreciated.

Regards
Tony

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Deleting cache.db - repercussions?

2015-12-20 Thread Apesbrain

My server reboots itself weekly using a script that deletes this file.
Easy way to force a full library rebuild. I've never noticed any ill
effect. Note that I don't use Trackstat.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9 Debian 8 AMD-64 Radio Stream Transcoding Problems

2015-12-20 Thread BenB

The problem at the moment is everything is changing faster than the
documentation, both in Debian itself and LMS. From the changelogs I
found that Michael had included 64 bit binaries in the latest nightlies
of 7.8.1 so I used those and everything just worked.

I installed just the base version of Jessie (No GUI, just SSH server)
and then added the bits I otherwise need - Webmin, Samba and mdadm for
my RAID array. Most importantly, you don't need multiarch or ia32
libraries, and in may case I chose not to install lame either.
Everything plays through the devices I have, so that's good enough for
me!

Hope this helps,

Ben

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS plays in Safe Mode but not otherwise

2015-12-20 Thread mimnagh

I run LMS 7.7.5 on Windows 10 machine.

Recently I noticed I could only play music when the server is running is
safe mode.

When running normally, I cant scan or play music - although I can play
radio stations.

I am not sure what the problem is - any assistance would be
appreciated.

Tks

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Deleting cache.db - repercussions?

2015-12-20 Thread ChrisNY

Hello all,
I am receiving the following error message in my server log file:
[15-12-19 10:59:03.8436] Slim::Utils:bCache::__ANON__ (283) Error:
DBD::SQLite::st execute failed: database disk image is malformed
[15-12-19 10:59:03.8453] Slim::Utils:bCache::__ANON__ (284) Error:

I am contemplating shutting down LMS and deleting this file as I believe
I've read elsewhere that it gets recreated. Would I also need to
restore my Trackstat data from a backup in this case? Any other
repercussions I should be aware of? At this point I'm thinking I don't
have much to lose but figured I'd put the question out there before
pulling the trigger.

Thanks.
