Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Does LMS 7.9.1 support Wavpack DSD playback?

Daphile ? Does it no use modified version of SoX , quite possible it
uses other modifications.

Workaround create hirez pcm copies 24/88.2 or 24/172.4 depending on
original DSD rate .

Hi bpa,

Thanks for the input. I'm afraid it's more than just configuration. Some
executables may be different from windows LMS. In addition, I need to
install a beta version of Daphile in order to log into terminal, and see
those settings.
While I was playing wavpack DSD, my DDC (XMOS) showed 176.4Khz. Same
thing on windows LMS. Maybe it just a false message, because 705kbps
FLAC is just not practical for 176.4K/24bit data stream.

Poting

FLAC comments also do this. After a "new/changed" rescan the LMS
database shows -both- comments rather than just the original one
updated. Database rebuild fixes the problem.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Random short disconnects from Squeezebox 3

2017-09-07 Thread bpa

There is a common issue with the WLAN card in SB3, Boom, transporter and
receiver. They can fail and stop the player from working even if player
is using wired connection. Before they fail totally they can affect the
operation of the player - in my case random reboots.

If it works on Daphile and not on Windows - then it is just a setting or
perhaps a custom change done in Daphile.

Enable logging player.source to INFO and compares Daphile and Windows
output playing the same file.

Thanks Michael
That's a real limitation so
i'll have to rethink my set up.
I wouldn't want anyone " to hammer my backend"
sounds painful!

What UI are you using - is it a SB Topuch or an App. If it is an App
then it may be a bug in the App.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Random short disconnects from Squeezebox 3

2017-09-07 Thread epoch1970

I would consider all the hardware on the path between the SB3 and the
server.
E.g. Ethernet switches that are manageable and less than ~ 5 years old
have power saving features that could deactivate a port.

If you look at the information tab in LMS settings, you will see if the
SB3 is using ether or wifi: when on wifi "signal strength" is reported.

If the SB3 is set to acquire an address via DHCP, and the address is no
fixed in the router, perhaps releasing the lease and reacquiring and
address is not instant. I don't recommend using a static IP on the SB3
but you could test with it.
(If it uses a static IP make sure it is outside of the DHCP addresses
pool)

Good luck.
