Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Accessing LMS from Internet?
It's doable, but not recommended. Here's some discussion. Some old and SqueezeboxServer is now LMS. You'd need to set all this up before you left home, as it requires settings on your home router. http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Connecting_remotely http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Remote_streaming http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2011/02/11/coolios-guide-to-remote-playback/ In any case, you should be able to connect your players to "mysqueezebox.com" and play internet radio, pandora, etc. without having to do all the above. *Home:* VBA 4TB (2.5) -or- rPi4B/pCP6.0/4TB>LMS 7.9.3>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.4) -or- rPi4B/pCP6.0/4TB>LMS 7.9.1>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (ethernet, Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>LMS 7.9.3>Squeezelite *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP4.0, hifiberry Dac+Pro, 4TB USB (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir2 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* ripping: dbpa > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112464 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Accessing LMS from Internet?
I've gone on vacation and brought along one of my Squeezebox radios, thinking I should be able to access my music over the Internet. I assumed I would just need to setup some port forwarding in my router, and enter the dyndns address of my home server in the Squeezebox. However, I'm starting to feel slightly mad. There seems to be no way to enter a host name or IP address of the LMS server in the Squeezebox..?! I think I checked all possible menu entries. The Change library setting only lets me chose between the old library under the name of the host as it was known locally when I was connected on the LAN, or MySqueezebox. I even went so far as to enable SSH, login to the Squeezebox, and search for configuration files. I found some files in /etc/squeezeplay/userpath/settings containing the old server's name and IP address. I changed this to the external IP and host name. Now it shows up as my library, but I still cannot connect. I have opened port 9000 and 3483 in my router, and forward them to the LMS server on the LAN. It feels like I'm missing something here. How should this be done, properly? magicus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66752 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112464 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Changed PSU and big improvement, reached roughly 20% of library this time Total Tracks: 2,192 Total Albums: 186 Total Artists: 246 Total Genres: 28 Library total is @ 12k tracks. Now wondering if a bigger / faster card might be needed? Also running on wireless, might try a switch to hard wire mcgoverg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112461 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hi Paul, Thanks for the reply. Card is 8gb, would you suggest something larger? Power supply a more difficult Thing to check I guess. Or are there any logs I could view that would detail the power consumption? The most likely things that may break LMS is use of external internet service such as streaming radio or services like Spotify or Tidal. More of this type of service require the use of use https and some stations have minimal levels of security which requires recent updates on which LMS relies which may not be available for 2003 bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112452 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Lms crashes
About the only thing that would trigger something like that is a power supply problem. You may not have seen that in player only mode, but when using LMS, the CPU usage will increase and could require more power than you can supply it. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Lms crashes
Hi, Ive recently installed PiCorePlayer on pi2b and the player works really well when connected to my current LMS on Windows 10. However Id like to run lms on the pi and have enabled this and set up a share to my QNAP NAS. When I start a scan it aborts very quickly and the pi reboots so any log which might indicate the root of the problem is lost Ive upgraded everything to current versions but still no success in scanning anything more than 500 of the 12000 tracks in my library. Greatful for any ideas on how to progress the Problem.
