Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugin update process

Thanks Michael for the ack. No biggie, but was intrigued since a fix is
coming in Material skin and I was interested as to how the fix was
rolled out.

Can you point me to some relevant posting talking about this? I checked
Material's changes and didn't see anything.

Not sure how to attach a screenshot. Have tried to follow instructions
below and is says it's there. The screenshot simply reflects what comes
up on the SBB (sorry, I identified it as SSB) under settings when I
scroll through them.

I’ve used stream.mp3 extensively with the MediaServer skill with LMS 8
without issue, so it must be a recent problem.

More good options - cheers!

Yes, I should've mentioned at the start that my server/living room
squeezelite player is using Windows. Otherwise would've gone for
Darkice.

My ISP is decent and I was able to do the port 80 forward. Streams fine
via cellular to my phone. Should be good to go at the office next week.
Then I'll sort out basic VPN with my phone for control via cellular.

I am back to the office while the missus still works at home. Just
wanted to keep listening together

I hope so. It's been a long time since I last used that feature, but
there still might be occasions when it would prove useful.

It's working for me, after a fashion. But certainly not correctly. After
music starts playing, as shown in the LMS default interface, it's at
least 30 seconds before anything audible emerges from the player, and
that's when playing mp3 files. It's more like two minutes if transcoding

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8 and stream.mp3

2020-08-14 Thread d6jg

I haven’t used stream.mp3 for ages but today I was fiddling with an old
Internet Radio Player which I’m sure used to play stream.mp3 with no
issue. In fact I know it used to work as it was still stored as a

Iirc it would transcode FLAC to mp3 if required.
Has something changed in LMS8 where it no longer works the same way?

VB-Cable is Windows only isn't it?
For a similar project I have used a Pi to take the audio out (USB
soundcard) from my HiFi and deliver it to Icecast2 (Flac in an Ogg
container) which LMS can then tune in to via "Tune in URL".
It should be possible to take the output of squeezelite through DarkIce
or FFFMpeg to an Icecast2 server in a similar way but I haven't really
had cause to do that yet - although I keep thinking I should.
