I have actually thought about that. My music collection is only about
175G. I have a 256G SD card and was thinking about setting up a LMS
server on a new Raspberry Pi 3. That would be a big step up from my Mac
Mini. But hey, if it ain't broke... ;-)

It is a bit of a hassle to open these old cases so it might make sense
to do that. The thing is 10 years old though. Not sure how cost
effective it would be to upgrade ram. This is actually a dedicated
device which runs LMS and does nothing else. As long as it can do that
one task - stream an ALAC or MP3 (320) file to the hard wired Ethernet
port - which it seems to do just fine - I am not sure if I care how fast
it is for general use.
