Many thanks folks, I agree IPv6 was probably the issue but now fixed
with a fresh new install which gets me onto Bullseye too. Must remember
to backup the card now

it is as Paul says more than likely the DNS server configured on the pCP
is wrong.

The full manual for the new router is here -
https://www.zyxel.com/us/en/uploads/images/VMG3925-B10A_UG_v5-11_ed1_2015-11-11.pdf
I can't see any mention of it being IPv6 capable so is the DNS setting
actually something that you have enetered in relation to your old
router?

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Zyxel router, connection problems

2022-01-14 Thread Paul Webster

Looks like it has moved you to IPv6 ... and LMS does not like it.

Code:

nameserver fe80::4ec5:3eff:fec9:84dc%eth0 invalid and ignored

Maybe if your tell your LMS server to use an IPv4 DNS (like 1.1.1.1 or
8.8.8.8) then it might spring into life.

If that is the problem then feel like LMS changes for IPv6 will need to
be done - if only to side-step it for now.

Which raspberry pi oS ? and does this connect to the internet ?

It might just be a network issue.

A long way round is to shut down everything. As in everything that goes
through the router.

Return the router to factory default (not restart)

When the router is back up and your computer connects to the internet,
power up the raspberry pi with LMS, check that it connects to the web,
give it a reserved IP Address in the router.

Then power on the player rpi

Proceed through your bits and pieces, connecting one at at time...

It might pay to wait for another suggestion from somebody who knows
about this stuff :rolleyes::p:):)

Thanks Ronnie - I get all green ticks in pCP e.g. internet accessible,
DNS accessible etc The LMS is on a seperate Pi so I'm not sure it helps
though.

A simple suggestion, from the Main page of pCP, click on Extensions,
this should show if the raspberry pi is connecting to the web

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Zyxel router, connection problems

2022-01-14 Thread jeremy

Have changed from Plusnet to John Lewis broadband which involved
changing router to an XYZEL VMG3925-B10C router. My LMS is on a Pi4,
version 8.3.0 - 1641537242. I can play music from the attached hard
drive but cannot stream or listen to radio and players are not picking
up correct time. So it seems something is stopping LMS from seeing the
internet. (PC picks up correct time and accesses the net without
problem) Rebooted server & router to no effect. Not sure what to do
next. Extract from server log below.

Any pointers would be much appreciated
