Well, as a test why not install LMS on the computer you are using now.
Turn the NAS version LMS off
Then order a raspberry pi :):)

Could this be SSL support issue?
The example that failed was going to https stream.
You could try playing the FIP Nantes again and then look at the details
of the playing stream to see if it is http or https
If that this the problem then you might simply need to add/update your
Perl SSL library
