If your "hidden Tracks" are stored in a subfolder, you can also - add that folder to your library (that folder must be outside of your unhidden Library) and uncheck the audio box in the add field. - Now you only have to disable the BMF / Browse Media Folder for that Player. - The other Player(s) must have enabled BMF - now you can play these tracks by using BMF. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Protect Library Views?
Thanks for your hint. It appears that the compendium around the plugin "Multi Library" is exactly what I was looking for. It allows to automatically restrict access based on Player name. However even though I managed to install it in the desired way (using the child-room howto in the wiki), it showed to be inconsistent over restarts of LMS. How would you position Erland's approach contrary to library views? It that a goal you eventually want to achieve using views? Is it true that the Views came long after Erland's solution and aim to overhaul the whole thing he did? I must say the "Multi Library" way is extremely difficult to understand, and also very slow in loading those special menus. But it is also very powerful. Being it a bit overkill security, I will try it with views instead. It's just way faster. cheers m maweber's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64980 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109802 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Protect Library Views?
The only way I know to do that is to run a second instance of LMS. Probably a headache I guess. But probably worth it if the split is that important? But then users could still switch server... [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Protect Library Views?
HI all My case is: I have -released- songs in one LibraryView and -unreleased- songs in another. I dont want certain players to be able to use the "unreleased" library. The only way I know to do that is to run a second instance of LMS. Probably a headache I guess. Is there another way? I do have *some* programming skills so maybe I could eventually hardcode MAC requirements? Any clues? Thanks! BTW if this to be a feature wish, maybe such a restriction would be put into a .restriction file in the library root.
