Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Slim Server
From my memory it went SlimServer -> SqueezeCenter -> Squeezebox Server -> Logitech Media Server. I live in a flat, so the rooms are next to each other, there is no stairs. I bought a BT Broadband Extender Flex 600 kit to hard wire the PC and squeezebox and it was better than wifi. I have reset the 2 plugs of this kit, and they both seem to be working perfectly as normal. I tried to connect the PC and SB wirelessly but it went through the connection procedure and failed to connect, exactly the same as using the hard wire. Wasn’t it SqueezeCenter->Squeezebox Server? Not sure, tbh. I thought "SqueezeCenter" was after the "Server" period, when marketing considered that term too geeky. Slim Devices was bought by Logitech in 2006, so then the names started changing but it's all one ongoing project. You want the latest Logitech Media Server (LMS) installation for compatibility, bug fixes, the latest plugins, and support. It's all free and does not demand a lot of your hardware, so why not?
