With respect to the screensaver, yes. Pause causes the player to enter
the Stopped state, and the Stopped screensaver should kick in after the
timeout period. (I just tried it on my Transporter.)

nope
pause is pause means a track/middle of the track is played and waits to
be played / skipped.
Stop is playlist empty

I am trying hard to get one screen of my transporter to always display
the date and time, using the basic settings and the Music Information
Screen. However, together, these do not come close to describing all the
states of LMS:
- Playing
- Playing after playlist is over
- Power off
