Works for me. Assuming you set a bandwidth limit for a device. This
option only drives the "transcoded to mp3" choice however, therefore
caps the bandwidth to at most 320kb. I'm sure you know this? I haven't

See the bitrate limiting section.

Hopefully we can beat Sonus to be the first true music player Alexa
skill. The Sonus one is not due until early 2017.
This will be a huge step in keeping the LMS family at the cutting edge
of technology - no pressure then meep!

Don't look at me!
Using the echo can get a little tedious unless it recognises truncated
requests, eg. Echo - play BBC Radio 4 on Tunein
versus
Echo - play radio 4
Are you planning to have SB players callable by name? eg. Lounch T

It seems that lately I am getting almost on a daily basis update notices
for Logitech Media Server. Is this really legit? Are there really
continuous (almost daily) updates being pushed?

Michael,

For the following reason I wish not to switch to 7.9.

nor share their favorites and music service IDs.
Ups, so einfach :-)
Danke, you made my day

Hi guys
Just reinstalled the latest version of LMS on my new Win10 PC. All is
working fine after a couple of mis-steps with iPLayer, but I was
helpfully pointed in the right direction by this Forum :)
The only niggle now is that the green LMS 'tray' icon isn't showing in
the tray. I know there h

Check if you can find SqueezeTray.exe listed in Windows Taskmanager's
Process (Details?) list.
How do you start LMS?

7.9 is not Smart Radio. 7.9 is LMS, Squeezebox
I think you still need to run C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\SqueezeTray.exe from startup or task scheduler to get
the tray icon. This is the tray icon, not LMS.
2 Duets - 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs
Rock Solid with LMS 7.9 on WHS 2011
Thanks. Yes I've already got Squeezer ray in the startup list - I can
see it there but it's not visible in the tray after boot up. Weird!
That's what made me think it might be an 'issue' rather than (my)
incompetence 😉
