Did you try the latest Spotty version? It should provide password less
authentication using a Spotify app on mobile or desktop.

If I use my username and password, there are no special characters. I
get the authentication exception using my username or email as user.
I have multiple versions of C++ Runtime in my Windows apps: 2008, 2010,
2013, 2015.

There's a known issue with some special characters when used in username
and/or password. Would you happen to have some, like $!@ etc.?
