I have tuned the File-max to 32768 and changed the cache_mem 64 MB. Then I have changed the kernel parameters as
net.ipv4.ipfrag_low_thresh = 196608 net.ipv4.ipfrag_high_thresh = 262144 net.ipv4.ipfrag_time = 45 net.ipv4.tcp_rmem = 4096 87380 174760 net.ipv4.tcp_wmem = 4096 16384 131072 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh1 = 1024 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh2 = 4096 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh3 = 8192 net.core.rmem_max = 65535 net.core.rmem_default = 65535 net.core.wmem_max = 65535 net.core.wmem_default = 65535
But this time also I am getting some messages in /var/log/messages as

I am getting so many "Squid Parent:child process 1454 exited with status 255 and etc." in the /var/log/message.
In the first while using the parameters as net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh1 = 128 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh2 = 512 net.ipv4.neigh.default.gc_thresh3 = 1024
I got the messages as Squid Parent: Child exited due to signal 6.
Then I have tuned that parameters.Then there is no messages like "exited due to signal 6" in the log.
So please give the correction on the Kerenl parameters in the above.

Processor : Dual Itanium 2 900MHz

Polygraph Server
Processor : P III 930MHz
Memory: 512 MB
OS: RedHat Linux-7.3 and RedHat Linux-8.0
Kernel: Kernel-2.4.20
Polygraph: Polygraph-2.55

I have tried a lot to compile the kernel ,but because of assembler,compiler and linker,I couldn't make it.If anybody did that on IA64 then please give the info
about that also.
