Hi,
I would like to know if exist some kind of external helper to authorize
users authenticated with another method.
I'm already using Netbios authentication but instead of the group helper
i would prefer to create an ACL based on a mysql table.

Hello,
The products I suggest simply perform URL filtering, without scanning
documents through the redirectior features.
They receive URLs from STDIN and rewrite them to STDOUT according to the
filter rules and to Squid specifications (see FAQ).
They do not check content of downloaded files.

Are you sure your network card supports 802.1Q? Not all Ethernet cards

Yup there is a squid2mysql package which although primarily for getting

Hi all,
This is my first question to the squid list, and believe is a hard one.
1) A client has asked us if it was possible to filter internet access based
on user (different rules for each one) BUT using a Windows Terminal Server
(same IP, same MAC). I have searched the list and have
Hello Jaime,
The answer to both questions is yes. However, instead of using Winbind,
you may want to use LDAP. I am currently using Squid with users on
multiple terminal servers on multiple subnets. I use both the
authentication and group access controls. Since AD can be accessed via

Does anyone use TrendMicro as ICAP server and Squid as ICAP client for

Hi,
thanks for your help, but I'm looking for an external helper.
What I need is a little tool that take username as standard input and
check it against a simple table to see if it exist.
I've tried to simplify sqauth from squid2mysql to obtain this and from
command line it works fine

I restarted the smb service yesterday (I haven't restarted it in a long
time) and now the ntlm_auth command doesn't work as a non-root user. I

Hi,
I've read the user guide/config guide/faq and searched the mailing lists.
However, apologies if this has been answered before and I couldn't find it.
Can someone please explain to me the mechanism squid uses to select

Perhaps I just didn't see this feature in the Squid docs, but does Squid

Hey,
I have installed Squid-2.5.STABLE4-NT on a Windows 2000 Professional PC in
our DMZ.
It seems to be proxying all right, but it is not caching anything. I had a
look at the cache.log and found the following error:
chdir: c:/squid/var/cache: (2) No such file or directory
which is true
SquidNT by default use c:/ as root directory. You can play around a bit
with regedit, find
Registry stored HKLM\SOFTWARE\GNU\SquidNT\2.5\squid\ConfigFile value
c:/squid/etc/squid.conf
this line appear when you do squid -i -n squidservice
Just change c:/ with root directory you run squid from.
