Hello,
I have got one simple question regarding the cache manager
value for Number of clients accessing cache:
Which period is measured by this value?
I can't find it anywhere in the docs... I figure
it to be the number of clients within the last 60 minutes.
Anyone who can tell for sure?

Maybe it's a fool question, but anyway I'd like to know if it's possible

I'd like to use it in transparent mode and moreover to make client ips

And if so, could you point me to any resources regarding the problem.
Kind regards,

My guess is that squid is trying to rebuild the store, but is too busy
servicing requests.
If that doesn't work, you can manually clear the cache, the store file and
have squid rebuild the cache hierarchy (squid -z).

If I do this, its a matter of hours and the same occurs again. What triggers
the process that squid feels it needs to start again and add a new process, why
did the old process die to begin with? In other words, what triggers the need

Can you try reducing your cache_mem value and observe it for some time.
I am also running ES with squid 2.5-10 stable. I increased cache_mem

And my squid started giving me trouble.
Now I m using only 512 MB , earlier I was using 700 MB. My total memory
