Hi,
We have squid2.5-STABLE7 running on SuSE Linux, squid is working very
well except that it has problem showing up a particular website

How hard would it be to implement strftime() style logfile names (i.e.
things like cache_access_log /var/log/squid/access-%F.log)? That'd avoid
having to rotate the logs every time.

Dear all,
I need some information about maximum time needed by Squid for searching

Hi,
I've got a weird problem.
When I try to reach www.riskommunal.at via our Squid-Proxy, I just can't get
to it (but without Squid it's working).
Then I added the following line in the config file:
acl DONT dstdomain .riskommunal.at

Hi All,
I'd like to thank everyone for their help! I've got it working by
downgrading from unstable release to going back to stable. I don't know
why this was the case but this solved it. I'm using debian so I changed
the source list from unstable (I was using it to get the latest

broadly speaking, I think NTLM authentication is where u
would use Windows NT/2k/etc to authenticate squid users.
I.e whatever credentials users enter to log into windows
network is what is used by squid to allow access to the
internet.
Basic authentication would be the defualt linux

Hi all,
I am looking for squid bandwidth prioritization. I plan to use
tcp_outgoing_tos to mark the packet for prioritization by tc.
Will it work? Your comments are welcome.

I tried my Intel 3.0GHz processor on an Intel D865 board with hyperthreading
enabled in BIOS for FC3 but unfortunately I failed to start the system until
it disabled in BIOS back. So I forget about hyperthreading under Linux. But
I heard that you can re-compile the kernel with this facility.
Godd morning,
I have Squid 2.5 stable 6 + Fedora Core 3, Pentium III 700Mhz 768 MB of RAM.
This is a partial view of the TOP program:
3:39am up 18:59, 1 user, load average: 0,74, 0,63, 0,75
91 processes: 90 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 27,1% user, 27,2% system, 0,0%
are you sure it is not viruswall http making your squid slow by doing
all the scanning of all webpages components?
how is the performance without viruswall?

I was wondering whether it possible to use acls to grant access to

I was wondering if they access through squid I could control in such a

If that really is the case, how about blocking access to that some
server and cancelling your customer's account?
