Hi Hendrik,
I have try to disable ECN on my linux box that has squid. But I still

Is there any other configure (squid.conf) needed exclude echo 0

Thanks

Hi Friends,
Currently i am using ip address based acls to provide internet access to
the users in my company.
Recently we have installed LDAP-V 3.
Now I would like to provide internet access based on the LDAP-

Can anybody suggest me how to go about it.
Thanks,

I have had a very unusual situation when my Squid crashes almost every

Thank you very much friend.
The URL which you have sent has very good information.
This Document doesn't have necessary information about configuring squid
with LDAP.
Still it has information about acls with authentication
Thanks,
Om.

The screen blanking issue could be related to hitting the SysReq key.
Out of curiosity, how do the following log files look:
/var/log/messages
cache.log (located in var/logs/ under the root of your squid directory.
/etc/crontab
ls -la /etc/cron.weekly

Dear Tim/Neil,
I will look up the details and send it over to the group. The messages
and the cache.log looks normal. The access.log is not set, i.e.
/dev/null. I also realised that as soon as number of users are high,
i.e. when I start redirecting (-j REDIRECT) more users to Squid, it
ntop http://www.ntop.org is a quite cool tool to get a
quick view of network traffic of any kind. Not strictly Squid
related (operates at packet level).
It's also possible to query Squid using snmp and/or cachemgr,
but it's unfortunately not an easy task.

Hi,
I am using Squid 2.STABLE13 and DansGuardian for caching and filtering. I
have Squid in front for authentication, then DG, then another Squid for
caching. It's all been working great with NTLM auth using winbind and smb.
I have an acl that looks like this:
acl denied_users proxy_auth_regex

cachemgr has multiple views on this, so does SNMP. The problem is to
view it in a meaningful manner so you understand what you see and more

Hi,
I want a matching ACL to not use the cache.
acl back myport 8081 : should not use cache.
acl front myport 8080 : should use cache.
I can't use no_cache directive because it purge objects.
Do you have an idea ?
Thank you.
Aurélien Bras.

Hello Aurelien,
We thought your parameter specification is incorrect. you can try with
Hyphen(override-expire) instead of using underscore (override_expire)
refresh_pattern . 0 20% 4320 override-expire
refresh_pattern . 0 20% 4320 reload-into-ims

Dear Chris,
This sounds like a good one.
As part of the logging, I need to log the current number of file
descriptors in use and if after a crash I notice the last values hitting
the peaks, I can almost accurately say that REDIRECT of iptables is the
cause. Any pointers to monitor the file

I'm back at this.
I'm looking for some tips as so why I cannot access cachemgr items on
either of my squid instances.
I'm using squid on 3128 with NTLM authentication, cachemgr is set to
all. (password is very basic right now)
I'm running a second instance of squid for transparency, no auth
