Hello all,
I'm looking for a way to use squid to optimize use of mirror servers.
What I'd like is to tell squid, these servers have the same content, so
if you have, for instance, http://mirror1.org/path/to/file; cached, if
someone asks for http://mirror2.org/path/to/file;, you can just

Its not easily possible at the moment as you need to use a URL redirector

then store it locally as the cleaned up name.
Solomon's Youtube stuff is an example of that.
I'm trying to find time to implement this inside Squid by
we are running squid 2.6stable16 with ntlm auth. we use winbind to
support challenge response auth so that there is no user interaction or
password dialog popup.
is it possible to force basic auth - so that no ntlm-auth is used or
tried before - for certain clients (eg acl javavm browser java)
Thanks for your input, but unfortunately it is still
not working.

I found the cause of my problem !!
Apparantly curl uses BY DEFAULT the pragma : no-cache

This means indeed that the WC never caches the pages.
By using curl-loader (who does not use the no-cache
option) I noticed that indeed object was cached !

I seem to have a plethora of pam_auth errors originating from the

Please file a bugzilla report with this.
