I've installed squid 3.0 STABLE10 on OpenSuse 11.1 64 Bit.
Some seconds after starting I get the following message
Hi,
I am trying to set up session helper with source IP as the lookup key, using
squid-2.6.STABLE16-4.fc7. The relevant sections of my conf are:

Just to clarify...
If i do a ..

Then this happens before any ssl stuff and therefore I can return a

You also say that deny_info does same as redirects but just sends

I am talking about 24 hours of traffic on a busy network. If i switch
back to the old transparent setup everything works in fine. I am at a

Good afternoon,
Our company is currently investigating the use of Squid as our Proxy solution
(Secure Web Gateway?). I was curious if anyone out there has successfully
installed and
managed a Production Squid environment
that would be about the complexity and size of the following (and I'd
I know an implementation with more requirements than you need.
You will need a fast disk to the squid cache. The environment I know
have the cache on ram disk.
I have squid separated from my AD forest by two firewalls, this isn't
a problem, you need to open the required ports.

I use an url_rewrite_program, which seems to die after about 40
requests.
Squid starts 15 processes, which are enough, but after some time one

here is how i defined the ACLs
acl staff_net src 196.2.2.0/24
acl staff_net src 10.0.0.0/16
acl staff_net src 168.167.8.0/21
acl staff_net src 168.167.30.0/24
acl staff_net src 168.167.32.0/24
acl staff_net src 168.167.34.0/24
acl FastInternet src 10.0.5.229

Do you have memory cache turned off? This way it's useless to have it.

Thanks for everyone's input thus far. I guess that I'll have to give you guys
more (better) information so you can see exactly what we will need Squid to
handle for us. At
that point you can /point /laugh and tell us the better ways and then after
that see how we can do what we do today to
