Hi folks,
It appears that the Windows Update V5 client (not sure about V4)
tries to
open a port 80 connection directly to Microsoft servers to check
for and
download updates, this obviously fails as the router acls drop the
packets.
We had similar problems with WinXP clients trying to
or Internet Explorer, and, it is not always that squid
requests a password.
Is there a TTL for negative basic auth results? Can this be the
problem?
How can I debug the interaction between squid and
authorization-helpers?
Thanks, JdW.

Hi folks,
My Squid always modifies the X-Forwarded-For header with the client-IP.
I'm now in a situation I want to keep the X-Forwarded-For header as it
is..
As far as i see it's only possible to disable the X-forwarded-for
header, which will result the header as:
X-Forwarded-For: Unknown.

Hi Henrik,
Problem is fixed. I'm now using another squid_rad_auth helper, which

Henrik,
Just set it up to:
delay_parameters 1 10/20 10/17 -1/-1
bucketsize of 100kB, filling up with 200kB/s. When i start downloaden
from a client, i am slowed down to 74kB/s. How can this happen? This
happened too with old setup.. (yes, got squid -k reconfigure)
Thanks,

Hi,
have a look into your store.log.
If there are many SO_FAIL entries try to use diskd instead of ufs:
cache_dir diskd /var/spools/squid 1024 16 256
