I just set up Squid 2.5 stable 3 on SuSE 8.2 with Samba 2.2.7a and the manual authentication as described in http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-23.html works fine! It seems that the squid authentication works too, in the access.log every connection is Logged in this type : IP Adress -
