full image as it seems is send.
I verified that the filesystem has enough diskspace (69% space used, 23%
inodes in use).

I was wondering: squid as a kernel-module? (linux/*bsd/etc.)
For example in the linux-kernel, there's a module for serving http-pages.
Maybe something similar for caching?
