My email is hosted with a provider that is currently running
SquirrelMail 1.4.0 RC2a and that runs Courier-IMAP (I don't know the
version).

I've looked through the lists and have been following SM-users for a
while, and I haven't seen anyone talk about this issue.

I frequently have access to either a Linux or an OS X box, and when I
do, I tend to use either Evolution or Apple Mail. I've renamed some of
my mail folders at various points and created new ones at various
points.

For some reason, none of the folders I've created or renamed in another
MUA are visible when I use SquirrelMail (which I frequently use when
traveling or at a temporary location that has web access).

Also, a lot of the old folder names still show up in the SquirrelMail
folder list, but prepended with '='. When I click on one of these, I get
this error:

ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query: SELECT "<folder1>.=<folder2>"
Reason Given: Invalid mailbox

The other MUAs don't give any evidence of these old folders and all that
I've used are able to show me what I think should be my current complete
folder list.

Is this something I need to ask my administrator about as far as IMAP
setup?

Thanks!
