Re: problems accessing our Squirrelmail webmail account

 Dear Support Person,

 Can you help please?

Until today, I was just an end user.  Since we've had this problem (over the
last few days), I've been promoted to 'I.T. Administrator' with the task of
 resolving this issue.

When you read the following link, I'd say you still fall into the
category of an end user. When we reference administrators, we
reference administrators who were trained as such or have otherwise
learned about the tools and projects that they manage. It's clear
that you don't understand what SquirrelMail is, so you might want to
study the following links more carefully to understand why you are
asking the wrong people for help. We simply cannot assist you.

Unfortunately, I'm not much of an I.T. person so I need your assistance.  It
would be great if you could help.

The problem: my colleagues and I recently changed the hosting of our domain:
'salsaincolombia.com' from Dreamhost to Godaddy so that we could use
Godaddy's 'Website Tonight' application and manage the content of our newly
 created website ourselves.

Previously, our website had been created by a friend of a friend with very
good technical skills.  He had set things up on Dreamhost with separate
webmail access through Squirrelmail, in such a way that we could update
content on the website ourselves.  This person, unfortunately, is no longer
available to us so we cannot get his help or advice.

Once the hosting had been transferred to Godaddy, a few days ago, we noticed
that we could no longer access our webmail address:
'webmail.salsaincolombia.com' as before.  Instead, we saw Godaddy's
'Workspace' front screen, which is the application they use to manage their
 webmail accounts.

I told the Godaddy support team that we would have no problem using
'Workspace' as long as we didn't lose the data we had previously on our
 Squirrelmail account.

Alas, they confirmed that the only way we could keep our Squirrelmail data
would be to go back to using Squirrelmail (which, actually, we thought we
would be doing anyway because at no time during the domain transfer, did we
suggest to Godaddy that our webmail account should change; and we had also
believed that the person who had set up our original website had, in fact,
kept our Squirrelmail webmail account separate to any hosting provider???).
Anyway, Godaddy support said that we would have to ask Squirrelmail support
to switch the 'MX Records' back from Godaddy to Squirrelmail.

I explained to Godaddy support that Squirrelmail does not have a support
department in the same way as Godaddy, and asked if they could do something
from their end, but they said the only way for us to retrieve our webmail
data would be for someone at Squirrelmail to transfer the MX Records back to
our account (webmail.salsaincolombia.com) from their (your) end.

Well, I'm not sure what these MX Records are but if someone could help me
with this task so that my colleagues and I can once again see our emails on
our Squirrelmail account, I'd be very grateful.

I really hope someone can help with this and hope I haven't missed out
 anything.

Many thanks, in advance, and regards,

 Stephen Elliott
