In my experience it not work with Postgres at all.
I can't go further DB config step - it tries to use webserver's
credentials instead of configured ones. With or without kamailio DB created.
While MySQL works like a charm on exact same system/config.

I use it only with mysql, there were some other discussions on the
mailing lists about using it with postgres, don't recall right now the
conclusion.
Also, I remember that at some point Victor Seva sent a patch (which was
accepted) about making it work with postgres.
