And still another hint. Put your chassis over a oil changing pan or something to catch oil drips. Hook it up to your air supply. As Jim says make sure you have a few drops of steam oil in the air line. Begin running the engine chassis and then pour some transmission fluid over the entire thing.

I usually run with a 20 freight car train. I too use methanol. It takes about 8~10 minutes from light to safeties blowing. I whistle off when I see a "3" on the gauge. (I do have a Bangham two chime whistle. Hee Hee) I usually have 3/4 glass of water when I start and leave the bypass open. Af

I have all three of my Mikado wick tubes shrouded (with a brass tube that slips inside the Aster wick tube) so that only 1/4 inch of wick is exposed. I get 1+ hour runs with this setup. The beauty of this setup is I can slide the shroud up or down to change the exposed wick length without having

Well I've been thinking about all this for some time now. I measured Soni Honegger's engine at DH this year and found it to be 3.5 inches from the rail centerline to the outermost part of the cylinder chests. That makes it a 7 inch wide loco. Additionally I measured an Accucraft Electric K 27
