I don't remember that discussion but try magnet wire. It's thin and is
coated with a hard shellac. Use the wire as one conductor and the frame
as the other. You can also pass the magnet wire down a hollow tube that
might be used as a hand hold or dummy plumbing.

And still another hint. Put your chassis over a oil changing pan or something
to catch oil drips. Hook it up to your air supply. As Jim says make sure you
have a few drops of steam oil in the air line. Begin running the engine chassis
and then pour some transmission fluid over the entire thing.
I usually run with a 20 freight car train. I too use methanol. It takes about
8~10 minutes from light to safeties blowing. I whistle off when I see a "3" on
the gauge. (I do have a Bangham two chime whistle. Hee Hee) I usually have 3/4
glass of water when I start and leave the bypass open. Af

inside the Aster wick tube) so that only 1/4 inch of wick is exposed. I get 1+

During the first five runs of my Aster Mikado the safeties were blowing most of
the runs. The maximum burn time was 45 to 50 minutes. After reading Victor
Lacy's suggestion from 2 1/2 years ago I adopted his idea to add shrouds to my

Walt: Here in Las Vegas I was concerned with that same problem as I rebuilt my
line. We measured the Bachman electric Shay at the foot boards and found them
to be 6 inches wide. I measured the new Accucraft live steam K-27 during the
National Summer Steamup and found the front end to be 6 inches
Absolutely buy it quick. I have one I built from a kit in 1991. It runs very
nicely and will pull around 35 or so USA style four axle plastic freight cars on
level track. Mine developed a howl when the burner was lit. The howl went away
when the smoke box door was open. So I just drilled a 1/

I had that thought also (10 foot curves) when I built my track. It was
beaten into my head that 10 feet was the minimum radius for Aster

Soni Honegger's engine at DH this year and found it to be 3.5 inches

I just bought the slow cure version (several minutes working time and at
least 6 hour cure) at Pep Boy's auto parts store. It is available in 1
oz size or 6 oz sizes for shops. There is a fast cure version (4 minute
working time) in 1 oz sizes as well.
