If we are going to standardize this we should be using existing standard color spaces that are widely implemented. I had to go re-read the XEP to see what it is you mean here. I do consider it odd that the spec mentions HSLuv in normative text. Since the algorithm only generates a hue

I have similar views to Dave and Daniel on this. This specification is not needed to fill any gaps in the protocol, it is quite easy to refer to "non-stanza top-level elements" or "non-stanza stream-level elements" without inventing a new word for them. We have enough jargon floating around
