FWIW...
This is usually caused by manually copying files from a DOS/Windows
machine to a Unix machine and then checking them in. However it
is caused, it happens when you check a DOS-formatted file in from a
Unix machine. In this case, CVS stores the file as-is with \r\n's
intact. If checked

Yes, I removed all the empty lines because it made the file very
long. I'm not sure why it would show up as a single line though with

used Eclipse to make the changes and it shows up fine in my editor.
Hi all,
We're finishing up the CD-ROM for the our Struts Book, and I want to
put a recent nightly build in addition to the 1.1b2 build. Can anyone
recommend a fairly stable recent nightly build that would be a good
candidate (i.e., not crashing all over the place, compiles, etc)
Thanks,
I've never had a problem with any file except AppException. I'm using
windows and, as you said, cvs translates this automatically when moving to
unix.

If there is not something specific that you are after, I'd
seriously consider sticking with the 1.1b2 build, so you have a
formal point of reference.
If you are trying to top off the CD, including the source from the
dependant Commons packages might be helpful, and/or a selection of
goodies

I've noticed that emacs is one of the better editors for this - it seems to
know how to save the files correctly no matter what the platform is. Many
of the primarily windows editors can cause this problem.
Here's the vi (or vim since you are using cygwin) command I use to clean
this up:

There is, I'd like to get the latest Validator stuff, since that's what the

I am not one of the developers of struts but I have found bundling the
actionbuttons in the form bean extremely useful, i.e. in the validator
method (if you are saving your validation is different than if you are
recalculating). How they get set is a matter of opinion. You could use
